El Camino Retirees

Faculty and Classified Retiree Chapter  

Joining forces, the Federation and ECC Classified Staff have formed the EL CAMINO FACULTY AND CLASSIFIED STAFF RETIREE CHAPTER of CFT, which is affiliated with the American Federation of Teachers, AFL-CIO, #1388-R. The 1388 Retiree Chapter has its Retiree Chapter Bylaws. The chapter is charged with providing retirees with an opportunity to stay connected and to lend a hand to the union and labor movement. Join the chapter and enrich your well deserved retirement even more. 

Starting in June 2022, the interim Executive Committee has met each month to begin organizing the new El Camino retiree chapter. Below is a list of these officers, all volunteers for this interim Executive Committee.

If you would like to volunteer, organize social events, design a separate website, represent the Retired Chapter at events on campus, or suggest other activities, contact one of our officers. 

Since a complete list of El Camino retirees is not available, your help is needed. Contact those you know (or send their email and other information to one of the officers) so they can also get involved in the Retiree Chapter. The interim Executive Committee is currently working on a social event, expanding our membership, keeping track of any issues that would affect us as retirees, and focusing on next steps. We will post all updates here.

Recent examples include monitoring STRS and PERS actions, lobbying the state government, and conducting public information campaigns. It also has information to plan your retirement.
